The Wild Months Postcards Set are a pack of 12 postcards, one postcard for each month of the year, taken from the illustrated pages of my 2019 Wildlife Calendar. They combine drawings and hand-written notes about what to look out for in the natural world that month – the birds and animals and flowers and insects that fill the countryside with fascinating movement.  Each of the months has a different illustration.  There’s goldfinches in January, a starfish in August, a sleeping fox in September, a hedgehog in October, and bullfinches in December.

The set makes a great gift, or it can be used to create your own calendar, or why not send one a month to someone special?  Recently a lovely man bought the set from me with the idea of sending one postcard a month to his Great Grandson.  I was so pleased that I get to be part of that.

Size: The postcards are A6 size (105mm x 148mm) and have lovely rounded corners.  There’s plenty of space on the back for writing.  Each card comes with a nice kraft brown envelope.  They are packed in a cellophane envelope with a wee sticker on the front.

The 2019 Wildlife Calendar and 2019 Family Planner Calendar are available now, too.  Designing the calendar is one of my favourite tasks each year. I’m obsessed with tracking the changes in the seasons. I love learning about the countryside and it’s rhythms and understanding why the world around us acts the way it does throughout the year.  If you love the changing seasons too, check out my monthly wildlife blog.

You can also purchase the Wild Months designs as individual blank cards in our shop.

The postcard packs are all designed, printed & hand assembled in my garden studio in the Scottish Borders.  The designs are inspired by the rich variety of the British countryside.  The idea is that they allow you to communicate your love for nature and the countryside.  The original drawings are done in pencil & watercolour.

We love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued.  We like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day.  Are you planning on sending this card to someone special?  Let us know when you leave a review!

These cards are so beautiful and make a wonderful Christmas gift. I also bought a set for myself to send a monthly card to my Mum. I know she will love them too.

I got these to frame and display on the wall rather than send out as I think they would look amazing in my porch where I look out at the wildlife with my wee boy. I will be buying another pack soon to send out to my gran who LOVES nature and who would appreciate receiving one of these brilliant postcards now and again. They arrived really quickly and are printed on high-quality paper.

I have bought these beautiful postcards to send to my friend’s young Grandson. I know he will enjoy getting a little something through the post each month of the year. Reading the little notes that go with each month, along with the stunning artwork I know will inspire and encourage him to appreciate and observe nature that little bit more. I have also purchased a pack to send one a month to a primary school in the USA. I know they will be shared with the young students over there and will no doubt provoke discussions in all sorts of educational areas. Thank you Hannah!
