This is a slimline wall calendar for nature lovers. It’s a 2020 wildlife calendar that guides you through the seasons – each month has drawings and handwritten notes about what to look out for in the natural world – the birds and animals and flowers and insects that fill the countryside with fascinating movement. Each of the months has a different illustration. There’s waxwings in January, bluebells in May, a nest of baby swallows in June, a blackbird in October, and a robin in December. And, of course, it has the days and dates for you to write in your appointments. The weekends are in a different colour to make it even easier to schedule your week.
The calendar is wire bound and ready to hang from a pin on the wall.
Size: When hanging the calendar is 420mm long x 148mm wide. It folds to A5 size: 148 x 210mm for posting.
In our house we rely on the calendar for making a note of appointments and social plans, but some customers use the calendar to record the world around them – such as the first snowdrops or the arrival of the swallows. I know one customer who uses it to record the happenings on her farm.
Designing the calendar is one of my favourite tasks each year. I’m obsessed with tracking the changes in the seasons. I love learning about the countryside and it’s rhythms and understanding why the world around us acts the way it does throughout the year. You can read about why I love designing the calendar so much in this blog post I wrote last year.
Your calendar will come in a protective 100% biodegradable cellophane envelope. If you would like your calendar, or any other product, to be sent without a protective cellophane then just leave us a note at the check out.
Need more space for the whole family? You’ll find this year’s 2020 Family Organiser Calendar in the shop. You can also purchase the illustrations from the 2020 Wildlife Calendar as a set of 12 Wild Months postcards – one postcard for each month of the year – in the shop.
ABOUT OUR PAPER GOODS
All our products are designed, manufactured and packaged by hand in the UK. The calendar is printed on FSC certified paper stock which means it has been sourced sustainably. The original drawings are done by Hannah in pencil & watercolour. The designs are inspired by the rich variety of the British countryside. We believe it is important that people feel connected with the fields, hedgerows and woodlands around them. Only by loving and enjoying the countryside can we learn to care for it.
We are committed to finding environmentally responsible packaging solutions. Where possible, we use 100% biodegradable cellophane sleeves made from cornstarch. In addition, we try to use paper-based packing tapes, and recycled cardboard envelopes and boxes wherever possible. This is a process we are committed to continuing with in order to reduce our impact on this beautiful planet. If you would like your calendar, or any other product, to be sent without a protective cellophane then just leave us a note at the check out.
