Brand New – A New Baby Card – Swallows Nest – Blank Inside

This simple, sweet card features a drawing of baby swallows all tightly packed into a nest.  There’s five little swallow chicks in the nest!  The card also has the words ‘Brand New’ and a note saying [The world just got a bit lovelier] on the front.  It would be the perfect card to send to welcome a new baby into the world.

The drawing is of the swallows nest at our back door when we lived at Teapot Street.  We loved to watch them grow and fledge every summer.  I wrote a blog-diary about the swallow babies last summer.  You can read it here.

It is printed on lovely quality card, and comes with a nice white envelope.

ABOUT THE CARDS

All the cards are designed, manufactured and packaged by hand in the UK. They are printed on FSC approved card stock which means that it is sourced from sustainable mixed forests.

The original drawings are inspired by the little corner of the world I’m lucky enough to inhabit. I draw in pencil, biro and watercolour, filling my sketchbook with drawings and notes, and working on bigger pencil drawings back in the studio. My work is all about connection: connection with nature, connection with each other.

I love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued. I like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day.
