‘Dispatch Pigeons’ is a pencil study of a flock of pigeons in flight, hurling round the rooftops in our local town – Melrose – where I go to drop the post off twice a week. The flock are always somewhere to be spotted. If we see them on a house rooftop, we like to shout BOO and off they go, lifting up into the air, and resuming their rooftop-racing. I always associate them with taking the mail bags into town. A new kind of pigeon post.
This pigeons card is blank inside so you can use it for any occasion.
The drawing is printed on a slightly textured, off-white card. The design is printed across the fold. Just fold it over to send it as a standard letter size.
The folded card is A6 size: 150mm x 105mm.
This card comes with a recycled brown envelope.
ABOUT THE CARDS
All the cards are designed, manufactured and packaged by hand in the UK. They are printed on FSC approved card stock which means that it is sourced from sustainable mixed forests.
The original drawings are inspired by the little corner of the world I’m lucky enough to inhabit. I draw in pencil, biro and watercolour, filling my sketchbook with drawings and notes, and working on bigger pencil drawings back in the studio.
I love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued. I like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day. Are you planning on sending this card to someone special? Let me know when you leave a review!
