This simple white card features a pencil and watercolour drawing of a sweet little robin perching tenderly on the hand of a gardener. Robins and their red breasts are an iconic sight in gardens over the winter months. They form a bond with gardeners, coming close to look for worms, and slowly building up trust. This little robin will even feed from the gardener’s palm. I love the juxtaposition of the delicate bird and the gruff hand of the gardener in this image. I wrote a piece about robins in this blog post.
This card design is one of my ‘winter’ cards. It is designed so that you can use it as a Christmas card, but it is also blank inside so you can use it as a general card throughout the year, too. It is perfect for thank you notes or for a letter to a friend. People often associate robins with lost loved ones so it would also make a lovely card for a bereavement.
It is printed on lovely quality, sustainably sourced card, and comes with a nice white envelope.
Size: The folded card is A6 size – roughly 160mm x 120mm
You can also find the Gardener & Robin image as an art print in our shop.
ABOUT THE CARDS
All the cards are designed, manufactured and packaged by hand in the UK. They are printed on FSC approved card stock which means that it is sourced from sustainable mixed forests. The original drawings are done in pencil & watercolour. The designs are inspired by the rich variety of the British countryside. I believe it is important that people feel connected with the fields, hedgerows and woodlands around them. Only by loving and enjoying the countryside can we learn to care for it.
I love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued. I like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day. Are you planning on sending this card to someone special? Let me know when you leave a review!

Perfect for my son-in-law who is harrassed by robins in his work as a gardener.
