This is a lovely signed print of my drawing of a grey seal, bright-eyed and whiskery, head-above-water and openly curious. Swimming in a marbled sea. A drawing inspired by a beautiful moment on the Isle of Islay last summer. My six year old was swimming in a sheltered bay near our holiday house, and a seal was clearly interested in him, popping up gradually closer and closer. At one point they came eye to eye, boy and seal, only about six feet apart. My son went very quiet. A quick glance away and when he looked back the seal was gone, back to it’s watery world. The image was developed from my sketchbook page from that day, alongside some marbled papers we made together that summer.
You have three size options:
1. A little A6 postcard sized mounted print which will fit an 8″ x 10″ frame. The print is signed and titled on the mount. The mount is ice white in colour and would look lovely in a plain black or dark wood frame. This size of print is ready to gift, to frame, and to display. It comes in a cellophane envelope to keep it clean and safe.
2. An A5 sized print with no mount. That’s roughly 5.8 x 8.3 inches in size (or 148mm x 210mm). Perfect if you want to choose your own mount and frame.
3. A larger A4 sized print with no mount. That’s around 8.3 x 11.7 inches (or 210 x 290mm).
This grey seal print is portrait in orientation.
The print will be packaged carefully in a protective envelope to keep it flat for transit.
ABOUT OUR PRINTS
Your print will be made to order here in the studio. It will be digitally printed on lovely smooth 210gsm archival paper. We use special pigment inks to ensure there is no fading over time.
The art prints are all drawn, scanned, printed & signed in my studio in the Scottish Borders. The original drawings are inspired by the little corner of the world I’m lucky enough to inhabit. I draw in pencil, biro and watercolour (and sometimes collage), filling my sketchbook with drawings and notes, and working on bigger pencil drawings back in the studio. My work is all about connection: connection with nature, connection with each other.
