Hogweed – Limited Edition A3 Print

This is a limited edition, signed print of my ‘Hogweed’ drawing.  A tangle of hogweed and other plants and wildflowers, backing onto the beach, and providing a spot for a reed bunting to sit for a moment.  I love the shapes that hogweed flowers and seed-heads create. For the past few summers, we’ve spent a week by the sea near Bamburgh in Northumberland.  There’s a little path that runs down to the beach.  It’s one of the best places in the world, I think.

The original drawing was done in pencil, with a tiny bit of colour added with watercolours.  This drawing is one of my gentle giants – big, slow, careful pieces that gradual emerge from the page.  Quiet and peaceful.  There’s millions of little pencil marks – squiggles, lines, scribbles – that work together to make the picture.

There are just 100 of this hogweed drawing print available.

Size: It is printed on A3 size paper: 297 x 420 mm (11.7 x 16.5 in).

The print sent flat in a protective envelope.

ABOUT THE PRINTS

Your print will be made to order here in the studio in the Scottish Borders. It will be digitally printed on lovely smooth 210gsm archival paper. We use special pigment inks to ensure there is no fading over time.
The original drawings are inspired by the little corner of the world I’m lucky enough to inhabit. I draw in pencil, biro and watercolour (and sometimes collage), filling my sketchbook with drawings and notes, and working on bigger pencil drawings back in the studio. My work is all about connection: connection with nature, connection with each other.

This print is part of a limited edition of 100 prints.  This means that once all 100 prints have sold then there won’t be any more printed.  The print will be signed in pencil along with the edition number e.g. 7/100.
