A lapwing on the breeze, wild and free by the sea. This design was developed from my sketchbook-sketches that I made while staying on the hebridean island of Iona, off the west coast of Scotland. It was spring and the lapwings were peewitting and tumbling enthusiastically, displaying and shouting in the wind at the north end of the island, and it was such a joyful sight.
The lapwing card is blank inside so it can be used year round for thank you notes, letters to friends, or it might be nice as a birthday card for a free spirit sort of soul.
It is printed on lovely quality card, and comes with a nice white envelope.
The folded card is A6 size: 150mm x 105mm.
ABOUT THE CARDS
All the cards are designed, manufactured and packaged by hand in the UK. They are printed on FSC approved card stock which means that it is sourced from sustainable mixed forests.
The original drawings are inspired by the little corner of the world I’m lucky enough to inhabit. I draw in pencil, biro and watercolour, filling my sketchbook with drawings and notes, and working on bigger pencil drawings back in the studio. My work is all about connection: connection with nature, connection with each other.
I love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued. I like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day.
