A hare, running through a meadow, maybe at sunrise, definitely with grace and ease.
This drawing combines pencil work, paint and collage to create a detailed and joyful landscape. It was inspired by my little daughter whose favourite soft toy is a brown hare (although she calls it Bunny…). Initially I drew just the hare on a white background, setting Bunny free to run as a brown hare, but then I realised she needed a meadow to gallop through. My daughter is only 3 but is a very joyful artist. The background was inspired by her easy expressiveness when she paints, her love of pink, and her love of flowers. You’ll find little snails and ladybirds in the design, too.
The hare card is blank inside so it can also be used year round for thank you notes and letters to friends. I think it makes a lovely birthday card, too.
It is printed on lovely quality card, and comes with a nice white envelope.
Size: The folded card is A6 size – 150mm x 105mm.
ABOUT THE CARDS
All the cards are designed, manufactured and packaged by hand in the UK. They are printed on FSC approved card stock which means that it is sourced from sustainable mixed forests.
The original drawings are inspired by the little corner of the world I’m lucky enough to inhabit. I draw in pencil, biro and watercolour, filling my sketchbook with drawings and notes, and working on bigger pencil drawings back in the studio. My work is all about connection: connection with nature, connection with each other.
I love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued. I like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day. Are you planning on sending this card to someone special? Let me know when you leave a review!
