Pied Wagtail – Pencil Sketch

This is an original drawing of a very sweet pied wagtail.  The sketch was done in pencil on matte white card.  It will be titled and signed.

If I were a bird I would very much like to be a pied wagtail.  I would bounce my lovely tail feathers all day long.

Size: The drawing is on 210 x 110mm white 300gsm card.  It is landscape in orientation.  The card has been cut quite squint at the bottom but I have left it be as it adds to the authenticity!  It would be easily straightened while framing.

The drawing is unframed.  I think it would look smart in a plain oak frame but that bit is up to you!

The drawing will be sent in a protective envelope via tracked shipping.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am a countryside artist based in the Scottish Borders.  Working mainly in pencil, I record the details of the fields and woodlands and hedgerows around me.  I aim to create calm, delicate drawings, carefully observed and full of character.  I then use these drawings to create my range of charming, nature-inspired cards and stationery.

My work captures a moment in time and conveys the sense of stillness and peace that I feel when I am in the countryside.  I became a mum to the sweetest little boy – nickname Pig – last year.  We love exploring the woodland where we live together.  I take my camera and my sketchbook and I try to look carefully at the world.  I would love to think that my work inspires others to reconnect with the countryside around them, and perhaps even to have a go at drawing it themselves.  You can see some of my sketchbook work on my blog.
