A handmade 3D card featuring a cut-out of my pencil & watercolour drawing of a Red Admiral butterfly. The Red Admiral is one of the prettiest and most recognisable of the summertime beauties that grace our gardens.
The butterfly’s wings are cut out by hand and the antennae & title are added in pencil. The handmade elements of this card make it really special.
Send the card flat and then the lucky recipient will be delighted to discover that if they just gently pull up the wings of the butterfly it becomes slightly three-dimensional. It really does look like a butterfly is sitting on the card.
This delicate, pretty card is ideal for any occasion: birthdays, sympathy, a wedding, or just to say hello. It is blank inside for your own message.
It is printed on lovely quality card, and comes with a nice brown kraft envelope.
The folded card is A6 size: 160mm x 120mm.
ABOUT OUR CARDS
The pop-up cards are designed, printed and hand-assembled in my studio in the Scottish Borders. The original drawings are done in pencil & watercolour. The designs are inspired by the rich variety of the British countryside. I believe it is important that people feel connected with the fields, hedgerows and woodlands around them. Only by loving and enjoying the countryside can we learn to care for it.
I love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued. I like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day. Are you planning on sending this card to someone special? Let me know when you leave a review!
